Installing MySQL

Version 4

Timestone Software recommends you allow one of its staff members to install and configure MySQL once you have a server ready (see Choosing a server for MySQL).

Even if you already have an installation it is strongly recommended you allow Timestone Software to check the configuration. The memory allocation in MySQL is somewhat 'geeky' with a myriad of memory parameters and the default installation usually does not allocate enough memory to the parameter of most benefit to the Timestone applications.
