tsPortal update
Development is well under way on the next major upgrade which will include email support.
It will be possible to send emails to subjects, jobs and customers. Email addresses can be read from your data (eg you may have email fields in your jobs) or you can enter email addresses on the fly.
No configuration necessary
Emails are sent through your own email client so there is no need to configure anything (SMTP servers etc). Likewise there is no need to know where data is in your database. tsPortal retrieves the correct data for the correct subject/job/customer/order.
Choice of composition methods
You can elect to simply launch your email client, have it populate the To email address and compose your email. Or you can compose your email from within tsPortal. This gives you the advantages of:
Using a variety of @codes
Some of these your familiar with such @name, @subjectkey, @jobname etc but others are new and specific to tsPortal such as @mainimage and @ordersummary
Save your email composition as templates
Design and save your own email templates to use over and over again. Or compose an email on the fly and elect to save it as a template.
Attach the subject's image
You can elect to attach the subject's image to the email. It will do this for you - no need to go off finding the image. You can attach either the primary image or any other pose.
Preview the email or just send
Once the email is ready you are given the option of previewing it in your email client before sending.
Bulk send subject subject emails for a job
You can automatically send bulk emails to all subjects in the job with an email address. The email can be customised using @codes so the recipients get a personal email. (At this stage it is not possible to bulk send these emails with image attachment)
The new tsPortal will be demonstrated and released at the Las Vegas training seminar. In the meantime is you have any questions about this, would like to submit feedback or make suggestions please do so without delay while this project is still 'open'. Likewise if you would like to see anything else in tsPortal such as more reports please let me know ASAP.
