Batch printing

I am currently using the fuji c8 print driver. There is an inheirant known problem with the fuji c8 system. It was maid for print labs like Walmart, it reorganizes any batch order of printing to optimize the printing speed within that batch. This does not work for school and sports because it mix matches the orders all up.
A simple way to fix this for all c8 or mini lab owners, is to be able to submit the print not in batches of 20-30 prints. But give the operator the ability to send a print que in batches separated by subject or folder.
This would solve the issue of not being able to use the order sorter on my mini lab.

We have fuji 5700 series printers

You can solve this problem by using the Fuji FCIM/Pic Pro 2 printer, and send it in the "MSPC/PrintRequests", we had the same issue with "C8Spool", Working like that will make your jobs print in the same way that timestone sends it.
The only problem is that timestone gives a random number after the name of the job, making a double once in a while (3-4 times in a school season) can be confusing the first time.

You can manage your jobs on the "FDDPC" computer, we almost never go on the "mspc" computer.

also a job won't print if there is an apostrophe ( ' ) in the name.

Outside of your printer problem, which we do not have any trouble with, It would be useful to batch print by other things besides a set number; Folder being the most logical next step forward in batch printing.

If you mean that you would like to batch print "by classroom" or "by level", it is not possible right now, you are right, but if you sort your queue by :
-subject - classroom -subject - name

You will have the batch printed in the right order, in batches of example 20 sets.
The "FCIM / pic pro 2" doesn't mix matches the order... first out of timestone is first out of printer.
Plus we found it took too much time for the printer to take the order, now the printer starts within seconds when
the job is done in neopack.

This being said, The fuction you propose would still be interesting.

Please clarify how it is working now. Are you saying that if your NeoPack queue is sorted by say, subjects, and each subject has pages of various sizes, the C8 will print them sorted by size (regardless of how we are sorting the queue)??

Is there any way to override this behaviour in the Fuji? It seems it should honour the order we send pages to it.

The only way to print without having all 8x10s together, than all 7x10s than 4x10s is to print by batches of 1 set in neopack when using Fuji C8 driver.
